Madagascar Hog Nose Housing

DanaPC Feb 02, 2012 11:19 AM

I can't find much on Leioheterodon in terms of their care specifically. I have to assume that diet, heat, humidity are pretty much the same as for Eastern Hognose varieties. The Madagascar's are larger and I will be the proud owner of a 40" female in a couple of days.
I would appreciate any information and advice you can share on Leio's especially on tank size and lighting. Do they need a UVB basking light, etc?.

I am not new to reptiles but am new to Hog Nose snakes but am a little frustrated when I can't find much information about Madagascar care specifically.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you. The Guardian Reptiles is really helpful. Do you just have the one species of Madagascar's or do you also have a speckled. The speckled I have heard is somewhat smaller than yours.
