Illinois Herp Law

xrayeric1993 Feb 05, 2012 03:07 PM

As an Illinois resident and reptile keeper , the new legistlation proposed in my home state has me deeply concerned for all reptile keepers. It seems more and more states are passing laws to restrict reptile ownership. This in turn leads to less demand for all reptiles, thus limiting the value of every reptile accross the United States. In short, we as a Reptile Nation are looking at the collapse of our beloved hobby. It seems my dream of my collection becoming self sustained by breeding and selling offspring in order to expand my collection may become a distant memory. However, all is not lost. Today is the day to contact our Senators and Representatives in a professional and respectful manner in order to spread our message. Please proofread all letters and emails. I see too many posts on the forums with gross spelling errors.

I f***ing hate our government (sorry for the explicit content ) lol but I to live in Illinois and have over 30and snakes so if it was passed I would have to pay over 7500 dollars for permits and carry a 1,000,000 dollar insurance policy on them with is dumb!
