Some pics, gravid and breeding

NUCCIZ_BOAS Feb 07, 2012 09:06 PM

Just wanted to share some pics that I took today.

First up is my VPI female, she is gravid by a hypo arabesque, and is due to give hypo arabesques het VPI on May 8th. She looks great!

I have several other gravid females, wasn't able to get any other good pics of them tonight. But I was able to get a couple of good shots of this pair which has been together for about a week. An OT hypo het VPI being bred by my VPI motley.

Look at the colors on these 2.... These babies are going to be rediculous! I can't wait!

and another pic through the glass so I wouldn't disturb them

Thanks,
Tony

Spoke too soon, right after posting these pics, another one of my females repositioned herself so it showed her swelling a bit better. go figure she'd wait so I'd have to make another post eh?

This is my Hypo het VPI which was also bred by the VPI motley. She ovulated Dec 26 and is due to drop VPI Sunglow Motleys on April 31

I've been going back and forth about whether I think she has good babies in her or not, but as of today, she looks pretty good, and getting bigger weekly. So my fingers are crossed

Wow!! That Sunglow Motley VPI T litter is gonna be smoking!!

Hey im curious, do you see them sitting on heat off and on or do you typically see them on the heat steadily all the time. I have a female who is very likely gravid and i thought they stay on the heat but she is off and on.

Great group of boas!!

I wish you the best with them!

my females that are gravid, once they ovulated, sat on the heat and haven't moved since. number spot is at about 90-91.

I suppose if you have a warmer.got spot, say 94-95, the female will probably move on and off the heat to whichever makes her comfortable at the time. I wouldn't worry too much about it. theyre pretty good about keeping themselves comfortable and doing their "motherly duties" to the best of their abilities.

You have some good stuff going on. I can't wait to see some T pos Arabs and your other breedings are killer too. Congrats.

Thank you very much for this! This could very likely be what is happening. I have my Ranco set to 94 it seems to get her up to temps better because of her girth @ 19pounds before the breeding season. today she is laying with her back half curled up and her head off to the side.

Thanks for the response. Hope the best for your girls!

Has a VPI T Arab even been produced yet?

No such luck on a VPI arabesque yet. I'm hoping to make some hets, then make visuals in a few years.

I do know of 2 people who have adult arabesques het VPI, but they have struck out thus far, not having any luck producing from them.

I think once it has been produced, it's going to be an amazing animal. The arabesques have an abnormal coloration to them (in my opinion) and I think when that color is crossed into VPI, it's going to be insane looking, much like the jungles which have a very weird color when crossed with VPI.
