Apalachicola Kings

rick d Feb 09, 2012 10:50 PM

Hopefully I will be able to breed them this year. The female is offspring from a WC gravid snake in 09. She hatched basically looking like an Ea. king but after several sheds you could see the speckles coming in. You can see a big difference when she’s 18 months old. The male is offspring from 2 WC kings found not far from where the female's mom was found. He did speckle up but not as much as the female.

I see your wife is included on your banner. Looks good. Wish my wife was more into my hobby. Just glad she tolerates me.

Yeah, she thinks these blue pair are hers. She says if we ever part, she's taking them. I just say, sure honey!

Rick, did you field collect the original WC animals yourself ? If not, tell us more about the lineage , if you have the info ?

GerardS Feb 10, 2012 10:13 AM

I would also like to know that info. Do you have pics of the WC animals. The animals from that area are so cool!

No, I have yet to see a live one down there. The parents were field collected by a friend. I may have photos and if I can find them I'll post them.

GerardS Feb 10, 2012 07:57 PM

Sweet! Those are amazing. I sent you a pm. Thanks.

If this is the Rick I am thinking of , from between Montgomery and Birmingham , Al ? Prattville area, is this you ? If so, you have been to my place (over in GA )back in the 90's looking at wild caught and captive goin's and brooks. I used to produce a bunch of those. Wish I still had some. I think we have some mutual friends in the Huntsville area. Good to see you around - Paul

denbar Feb 10, 2012 12:48 PM

Nice looking kings. I've wanted to try to field collect some myself. Will have to head over one of these years.
