Morph descriptions?

VanPerry Feb 11, 2012 04:59 PM

Is there any written description for the morphs? I looked at Bennett's list & found great pictures but very little written description. For example what makes a "toffeebelly" a "toffeebelly"? The picture only shows the top side of the snake.
A written description would help us new comers to understand what you are talking about.

Well you can find that all the bigger western Hognose breeders have some sort of list/pictures or even a written example of the different morphs. These breeders can be found on many different sites such as kingsnake just look at the top of the page and you will see there banners.

There is one site i have not been to in some time i tried to search for it but no luck its the best one i seen so far has pic & example of each morph. Try to google western hognose morphs.

As for the Toffeebelly there name say's it all well just about. If you were to see a pic there belly's are amazing and a toffee color. They also show paradox from very small spots to alot.

Hope this help and good luck

omeone would make a nice simple site for information on morphs. And not just hogs. I use to go to a German site for corsnakes. you could charge a couple of bucks for a subscription or ask for donations for the effort.

Also maybe images of other peoples morphs and links to their sites. Also a nice explanation of genetics.

AND,, a nice explanation on what to expect in locales. hognose have a large range. If I had the info I would gladly have it on one of my sites. IMHO

...you will find some answers on our/my webside

http://reptilesbreedingenterprise.com/morphs_collection.html
on the subpages you will find pictures and descriptions from the morphs we keep over here.
I did try to take some nice pictures to show the main traits from the morphs and wrote the descriptions like I see the morphs with my own eyes. Sometimes I did add my thoughts about the morph also.

You can visit the german part of the homepage too

it would be nice to have a center location for the more basic info on all snakes. or any herp. i know when I was doing corns I was always digging around for genetic info.

By teh way. pardon my droll over your snakes. lol I just got some very nice normals. Ive had a ton of stuff over the 40 years i;ve had herps. And i am really a lizard person BUT hogs are just cool.

now i have to save some money for a few morphs.

thanks
