Hey all, can anyone give me any advice on breeding? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Just thinking about it, want to get some input before I actually do it. Thanks.

alcohol, tobacco and firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency

Main thing is, make sure you have room or a place for the babies to go. It is far too easy to wind up with lot of babies in no time...

Keeping cats allows man to cohabitate with tigers. Keeping reptiles allows man to cohabitate with dinosaurs.
The best thing you can do is get a few kingsnake, milksnake, ratsnake books from your local book store or pet store and read through the breeding chapters.
overall it's fairly simple for most of the more popular snakes...
male female, cool for 2-3 months during the winter at around 50 degrees, once they warm up get 1-2 small meals in them, and then start putting them together. i usually wait til the females shed then put the males in for 2 days and take them out for 2 days then repeat over and over. i feed females like crazy this entire time. put a nesting box in the females cage with damp moss or vermiculite in it, female lays eggs several weeks after a successful mating, keep eggs humid and around 80-82 degrees, be ready for babies around 60 days after the eggs are laid.
that's obviously a very quick very basic look at breeding, but it should give you some idea of what you're in store for.

How long do you do that for? How do you know when to stop putting her with the male? Do you get her to pee on a strip? Does she start getting a glow to her? LOL
No seriously,I really don't know the answer to the first two question.

i'll do it until various things happen...
female stops eating
i witness copulation 4-5 times
and at times i'll just keep putting them together all spring and summer and get females to double and triple clutch. triple clutches are super rare (at least for me) but i've had a few cals, deserts, and corn females double clutch nearly every year. one female corn has double clutched 12 years in a row... she's now 15 and thriving... flawless perfectly healthy snake.
This link pretty much covers it all for breeding. Good luck
