What are the best snake racks?

tsusnakeguy Feb 18, 2012 05:51 PM

I am looking into possibly getting a rack system. I have built all my own stuff to this point but I want to go nice and uniform. I like manufactured racks because I like how the tubs have no grooves and seem easier to clean. I was just wondering what rack systems people out there liked. Which ones are the cheapest but good? I would appreciate any opinions.

I personally use Animal Plastics and Freedom Breeder Racks.

I use AP for my baby hognose (6 quart IRIS) and male hognose (Vision V18 tub).

I use Freedom Breeder for my Adult Female Hognose.

I plan to use Freedom Breeder for all of my Balls - from hatch-ling to adults.

These 2 companies are not the cheapest but they build the best products in my opinion.

Good luck.

I meant to say that I wanted a rack that would house adult red tail boas.

Love the Freedom Breeder but living in big city is way too costly for delivery. I like the vision racks, but would prefer they supply tubs with product. Only purchased the BP and Baby rack because tubs were supplied. If Vision can produce their own BP tubs, why can't they make the 32 qt. model?

Great question!

Why can't Vision make a 32 qt tub?

My problem is that I am only going to get one shot at it, because the costs are quite high and I am not sure how tall to make a 32 qt tub so that EVERYONE will be happy.

I think the Sterilite tubs are taller than they need to be and the Rubbermaid tubs (while shorter) are probably a bit taller than they need to be.

Hence, I am befuddled as to which height tub would make everyone content?

What do you folks think?

I have the Reptile Basics racks...

They come in many formats - CB70 for big ball pythons, sweater boxes for subadult and many more. Mine are well built and offer belly heat where the heat tape is recessed into the base to minimize wear on the tape.

I am very happy with them and I know you can get easy delivery up and down the east coast at various shows.

I have 4 of the ARS racks, having been in this for a while I think ARS builds the bestt metal rack.

Not in it as long as most of you, but I too love my ARS rack. Absolutely bomb-proof construction. The deli cup holders are terrific. And Brian Hahn is very responsive if you have questions. Going to order a second rack this summer.

I have a few ARS Racks and I love them. You can heat individual levels. With my Animal Plastics I had to heat the entire rack. Brian is also a great guy to deal with.

I would say ARS racks. See my youtube page for videos on that size when I first got it. Come to think about it I am overdue for an update to that video (showing it in use).
