see how white they are...

That's why the locals there call them salt and pepper kings....
In East Texas they are so yellow they are orange.......and at birth they have red on them...........

In my area they are yellow at birth and they lighten to straw yellow or cream colored with age.....

Yeah that's why I posted them, lol. Hey I think I remember someone with some yellow ones from Louisiana? Maybe it was Jeff Cochran?

Here in deep SE Texas they start off orange/yellow and like John said, go to a yellow/cream. The one you show has considerable "banding" like there is splendida influence, or more likely Eastern influence?

I hope so Bro! I'll have to keep a close eye on them though. The male is much larger than the female, and they are notorious snake eaters. No Bonding these guys!

They are definately what got me into this hobby, Joe. I used to hang out for hours down the street at a guys house who had a small snake collection, and whose Mother used to work with my Mom. He was much older, and I think he just wanted to get rid of me, so he gave me that little Speckled King with cage. I was hooked for life!

......great lookin' speck!

Love the ancient archive king photos..HAHA!!

Gosh, I wish I had more old pics than just the old 1971 Indigo photo. My old man has stuff buried in his photo boxes though I'm sure, but they haven't seen the light of day in several decades since they were first taken..
