Some Head shots

KcTrader Feb 25, 2012 12:02 PM

I figured I would mess with the camera a little today in the snake room. So here are a few head shots of some L.ruthveni, L.m.greeri and a L.m.mexicana.

Looking good Jimmy....
Those two Amealcos have interesting mottling.......I like that....

Thanks John, yes you are correct, the first two are the Tapalpa's and the next two are Amealco's. I hope all my ruthies produce nice clutches this year, even though I got some nice hatchlings out of two clutches last year.

I really never noticed how heavily mottled the one was until I took the pic. I guess when they don't keep their head still long enough to see in real life it all blends together.

I sure did, and it is one shy animal. Everybody else was out cruising around but that one kept hiding in the shavings. I'll get some more of her here soon.

Not as dark as the other female that came from Seirra. Staying pretty light but still stellar animals for sure.

It's that mexicana thing going on. Isn't it the same way with your HypoE mex mex too. You have to wait for them to get bigger to see what's what?

Yep...ontogenesis.....

I think I can tell the hypo-es now, but the black ones are tough....some clutches will turn black but each sibs at different ages......the nicest ones will show black speckling after a few months......I just wonder if two dark ones can throw a black offspring........I have plenty to play with and find out one day....

How many mex mex females are you planning on breeding this year? Well, how many adult females are you looking at breeding this year total?

They do, those are from Tapalpa. Part of the diablo line that Shannon has/had. Another fine addition to my collection from Jlassiter.

Yep....they were once thought to be triangulum........but have been proved to be ruthveni.......they do tend to be the brightest and cleanest locality of them all......

I don't know if mine will go this year, might be pressing my luck but we will see. I like the diablo animals better than the striped Amealco's but the super stripe Amealco's are still really cool. Hopefully I can produce them an a regular basis in the years to come.
