Knoblochi Head shots

KcTrader Feb 25, 2012 03:56 PM

Well since I was at it I figured I would do the Knoblochi collection.

First up is a Tad Fitzgerald male high black.

Another one of Tad's females. She is a dark burgandy color.

A clown face female that was also one of Tad's.

Here's a Steve Osborne male that Sherman Cunningham had. He is the Grandfather to the hypo Sherman produced in '09. Steve Osborne has the hypo pictured on his site.

Here's the Grandmother to the hypo.

This is a sibling to the male used to produce the hypo. (On Breeder loan from Shannon Brown) She will be bred to the Grandfather to see if the hypo gene was from him.

This is a sibling to the hypo that Sherman produced, she will be bred to the grandfather also.

Buzz Ross line that Shannon Brown produced.

A male from the original animals that Dave Barker brought into the states way back when. Roughly 16 years old.

One of Larry Keller's original males that has the clown face. He will be bred to the female clown.

Jonel Lopez female.

Unknown lineage but from Craig Trumbower, via Dennis Thomas

Candy Cane female produced by Shannon Brown, from his San Juanito line.

Sibling male to the candy cane above.

Some Bonding

Aaron Mattson line, type II

Aberrant male produced by Larry Keller

Aberrant female, daughter of aberrant male.

Here's a couple older pics. The female isn't expressing any aberrant pattern except for some split banding. First pic is the male.

Obey was pink as a hatchling......lLooks like there's still some erythrin in there.....lol

Seriously I don't know what is really going on with tricolors.......an anery alterna has white saddles, but hondos, zonata, pyros and other milks have that purplish/pinkish coloration.......maybe that is what's left when the erythrin is absent.......

Could be or it is just a hypoE and not really an anery as you stated.

The distinctly defined pink RBR in the "snow" hondo's proves without a doubt they are most definitely hypoerythristic.....at least in the red body rings anyway. Otherwise they wouldn't be clearly defined and pink.

Nobody can explain why they (anery Hondos) all have pure snow-white inner triad rings, and never pinkish gray as their other rings display though. Reduction of erythrin doesn't explain why these inner rings are ALWAYS pure white, and never close to looking more similar to the RBR since Hondo's also come in bicolored tangerine form as well. No so-called anery's EVER approximate their inner rings with what would otherwise normally be their red or tangerine rings. I have pondered this since about 1994 and can never make any sense out of it at all.

By the same token, there are good number of snows that very clearly do NOT display the same stark pure white rings that the "anery's" do.

I guess it is something to do with xanthophores and why it seems to target the RBR and inner triad rings in some very differently.

One of life's true mystery's..LOL!

Wow that is even more interesting, now that I know it's Anery. Why do we still see red? There maybe something else going on, maybe? I'm sure this has been covered already on the MS forum, I'll have to get caught up.

Thanks Dennis! Took about a hour to get camera settings to take decent pics. Now my batteries are dead and I was starting to get on a role. Still have a ton of hatchlings and sub-adults to shoot.
