Guess What????

Not all keepers of locality specific or wild type boas are elitists. Not all of us think people working with morph boas are lesser than ourselves or are some kind of scourge that should be eliminated or ostracized. Not all of us have bought into some supposed locality boa craze that started early in the 20th century. Not all of us are followers of some locality boa cult/religion and weak of will or intellect and/or needing persons possessing strong personalities to tell us what kind of boas we should or should not keep.

If I sound defensive, it's because I have been accused of all the above.

Some of us simply keep locality or wild type boas because we are fascinated with the variation in pattern, habitat and behavior that come from the womb of mother nature herself.

Some examples below....

The Honduran "firebelly" boa of very questionable origins. I have 2.2 of these myself. This is just one pic of questionable quality taken indoors under poor lighting with a flash.

and another without flash...

One type of Venezuelan Boa in my collection...

Another type of Venezuelan Boa in my collection

Some Tamaulipas, Mexico Boas, I have 2.2 of these

Another type of Venezuela boa...the Paraguanera Peninsula Boa...

Some Tarahumara boa tails...

Finally a closeup of my my nastiest and most treasured Cancun Boa....

Just wanted to say that for me personally, wild type reptiles, boas, pythons, lizards and colubrids have always been what I liked, that simple. No agenda, no manifesto...I just dig wild type reptiles. I always have.

Those are all some very pretty examples. Myself being a person only interested in polygenic mutts, I can't help but think what some of those localities might do when combined with morphs. Oh my God! I actually typed that!!! The "boa gods" are probably peeing their pants in frustration as I type

Seriously, there's room for everyone's tastes, and don't see why some people have the need to be political about boa keeping???

(Albino fire-bellies....imagine!)

Good for you, and more power to you!

Neither being a morpher nor a locality guy/gal is a sin in itself. It's the ostrocizing of others than make "the other choice" that is the sin.

I personally don’t like to distinguish so clearly between morph-ers and locality-ers (nice vocabulary, eh?) , because I think most of us appreciate both, except for the odd-ball extremist who wants to rule over the boa world…

As I have always said, work with what you enjoy and you can’t go wrong, unless you persecute your fellow man for doing the same, then you’ve screwed-up...

Best of luck!
