Day 27, Part 2: The Mystery

SunHerp Feb 27, 2012 10:25 AM

I've had this guy for just over 10 years. He was acquired as an adult from an importer circa 2001 as a "Honduran Milk" from "Central America". He's just over 3 feet in length - not much bigger than when he first came to live with me. I got two matching females for him at the same time, but they unfortunately didn't survive acclimation (parasite loads can be rough on imported milks). I'd love the chance to pair this guy with a female from the same import group, so if anyone has any leads, please send me an e-mail.

Hmmm, you have enough bands on that milk to qualify it as abnorma.

Jeff I remember you mentioning conspicillata a while back and just wondered if you were working with them.

Yeah, it certainly qualifies Jeff, and Cole and I just talked about it the other day as a matter of fact. I am betting it is probably an abnorma x hondurensis possibly from the extreme northwestern area of Honduras around the San Pedro Sula vicinity somewhere. It DEFINITELY has strong abnorma influence in several of it's meristic characteristics, that is for certain.
