Frasier's Jungle Jim!

lele Oct 03, 2003 06:12 PM

I posted to Roan's mom but while I was searching for something else I came upon the jungle jim thread and it was YOU! The pix are gone - can you repost them or email them to me? I want to set something up for luna so she doesn't get cabin - ok, cage - fever this winter. I am trying to take her out on warm sunny days but they are waning so I am planning ahead. Thanks!

Hi Lele!

Here are the pics you asked for. My husband actually made the gym and he made two of them -- one for his office and one for home. This was to put Frasier somewhere temporarily while we assembled his new cage. Worked great. We used a weight for the jungle gym in the skylight to keep the rope taught.

If you have any questions about how my husband did the knot work, don't hesitate to ask!

Enjoy!

great, thanks! Such a neat idea! Did he use bungi (sp?) cords? I suppose you could use anything. I have a several feet of window sash cord that I might try.

It wasn't bungee cord, just regular rope. That rope was actually a little too thin for him; he'd sometimes flip upside down, which would make him upset. LOL

*walk* *walk* *walk* *FLIP* *ANGRY VIVID COLORS* *HISSSSS* LOL!!

We used 1/2" sisal rope for his cage and it works great. Just large enough for him to grab comfortably and solid enough so he doesn't flip over. Another trick is to put several connecting roping/knots so that the rope intertwines. Any length of rope longer than 2 feet tends to be too flimsy.

Good luck with your project! And please post pics when you're done!!
