The weather the last few days has been unseasonably warm, in the low 80s, so I took the opportunity today to bring out a few of my favorite boas (that aren't gravid and could be handled) and take some pictures.
I haven't shown this girl off in quite some time. This is a project I have been doing since 2005, and she is a grandbaby to my original pairing.
In 2005, I bred a normal argentine female to a colombian kahl albino male.

In june 2006, I had a litter of 33 babies, argentines het albino. Out of this litter, I kept the 2 prettiest females

Here is one of those babies when she became 3 years old:

I bred this girl in 2009 to a Chris Nicholas salmontine het albino, and in May 2010, I had what is probably the prettiest boa I have ever laid my eyes on.... She is a 50% argentine sunglow!
In the goo:

by herself pre-shed:

After her first shed:

As a yearling:

As a yearling again (look at these eyes!)

And earlier today, sorry there's a few of them, she is TOTAL eye candy!

It may seem like a waste to some people, but my plans with her, maybe next season I will breed her to a completely normal argentine male, and make more salmontines het albino. My plan is to over time create the reddest boa ever imagined. I already have 7 years invested into this project, so I may as well keep going and breed the colombian blood out of them as much as possible.
What do you guys think of her? She's a Beaut!
Thanks
Tony
