Do you own Costa Ricans? I beg a boon!

AnnaCB Mar 16, 2012 08:12 PM

Hi folks!

I have a lot of tattoos. Why does this matter? Well, because I'm working on a nice boa half-sleeve that's coming along really well. One snake involved is a lovely Kahl albino (those colors were TOUGH to get), the other one is going to be a Costa Rican boa.

I've been crazy about trying to go for realism with this project (and all of my other herp tattoos) so what I'm looking for is this:

If you own a Costa Rican boa (or several, the more pictures the better, I say!) I am looking for a good belly shot. I want to have some excellent reference pictures for my artist, as the snake is twisting and a lot of ventral surface area is visible. I know the difference between their bellies and other CA boas is likely nil, but it's an important thing for me.
I am also looking for photos of Costa Ricans (especially the gorgeous, very rusty-red ones) in strong natural light- there's plenty of photos of them out there, but they seem to be either indoors or taken in pretty dark, diffused crappy outdoor situations.

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help!

Not sure if this is of any help. I owned her from a baby and now belongs to dr. Orlando Diaz.

Yes, thank you!
I'm trying to get a good range of colors to take in, so we can figure out what shades are able to be reproduced realistically. This definitely helps.

I would ask Dr Booth, i believe he works with Costa Ricans. Best of luck!

You've done quite a bit to further my project already, and I DEFINITELY know you're a busy, busy person...
I'm assuming a few of these guys at least are still in your care?

Do you think you could grab a belly shot? Even one where the snake is being lifted so I can see a few inches' worth would be amazing.

If not, I completely understand, it's kind of a weird request with little to gain on your end!

I can promise to post good photos of my arm once the project is done, though, in a couple of months, if that piques any interest at all
