I keep quite a few mojaves. About one out of ten seem to be high strung.
I have a female that is super lethargic. They seem to do better with a
hide spot. How did you have them setup? A friend of mine had a female
mojave for over 24 years.

Although everyones experience may differ my own experiences related to the care and husbandry of the C.scutulatus were excellent. Most of the ones I had ate their first meal within hours of capture. I have never had trouble feeding or keeping them for any length of time. Like my Naja Kaouthia(sp) they were always verocious eaters that would often times eat more than one mouse per sitting although I very rarely allowed this to happen. The last thing I wanted was an obiese Mojave sitting in his cage with nothing better to do(or any other snake for that matter).

Ive collected one or two in the past and after a few weeks of settling down they thrived. Took ft mice without a problem and very rarely got irritated. I kept mine on newspaper with numerous hide spots at both the warm and cool ends of the tank. These were part of a project I was working on so they were not long term captives
