Ahnuld-the-Red

Pit_fan Mar 17, 2012 02:05 PM

Hi all,

Ahnuld completed his first shed of the new year last weekend so decided to get him out for a few pics. Also put him on the scales this morning. As of now, Ahnuld weighs 7 lbs, 6 oz. or 3.35 kg. As near as I can tell, he is nearly seven feet long. He's always been large for his age (17" as a hatchling).

Thanks fer lookin!

Never get tired of seeing pics of that splendid animal! Love how big and beefy he is!

Thanks Bob,

He's maturing into a more approachable and handle-able animal as an adult. Finally got over some of that fearfulness (that we often misinterpret as attitude) that prevailed for his first three years. He's still almost a two person handling job when he decides he wants to cruise rather than be held...

Rozy with a couple of her little brothers...she is about three feet long and weighs close to 600 grams. She may be a contender in the heavyweight class, right up there with Ahnuld in a couple of years. There must be a gene for big huge that every once in awhile expresses.

Nice looking group there Bob! I really like the colors on the one at outside left. Somewhat reminiscent of an Okeetee corn. I am not sure how often the monster (size) gene manifests itself but it seems that you surely know it when you have it by the end of the first year or two...

Thanks!

Another pic of the one on the outside left. Baby male number 2. As they get older the colors improve.

Very nice. He is big boy for sure. Do you still have that GIANT cal king you posted a while back. I know, wrong forum, but that thing was a beast!

Thanks Joe! Yes I still have Oreo-the-giant. Have had him for eight years but he is at least 11 years old. Will post some updated pics of him later this year over on the KS forum...

Thanks Brad! I have found it challenging to scale backgrounds or other objects appropriately in photos when it comes to size comparisons for the larger snakes...

Yeah I plan on produce some Kingsville this year. The 2011 turn out pretty nice last year.
