My Female anole has a flap dude! It's like, freaky!

sk8erdude360 Oct 03, 2003 10:14 PM

I was handling my ground skink (Scincella lateralis) named Bruce when I glanced to Geo, my green anole (Anolis Carolinensis Carolinensis) and SHE was showing a neak-flap that was about 3/4 the size of a male green anole I used to know named Rocky. She was also doing a head-bob twice as big as I had ever seen her do before. This is really freakin' me out so if ya'll have any info. on it I would apperciate it.

Females have dewlaps only smaller and sometimes not as colorful. They head bob too. Are you sure it's a female?!?!
Hope this helps, Katie

My female used to show her dewlap and head bob often. She did it more when she was younger, nowadays I don't see her acting like that as much.

I'm sure it's a female because I once saw it lay an egg!
