Thanks! Most of my collection is based on some sort of odd pattern. My favorite is in tricolors, even though I have seen some mosaic cal kings and eastern kings that just rock.

Billy, thanks they were hard to capture their color on that white background. I need to put them on a different background and take some shots. It is one of those snakes that is not around a lot anymore. I haven't seen any ruthveni in the classifieds in a while. I am glad to be working with them.

So, has there been a striped albino yet?

There has been striped albinos produced. I believe by the person Aaron and Shannon had sent snakes to in Utah. I have not seen a amel super stripe though, I also believe that has not been produced yet. I am working on it though. My first chore is to produce some super stripes with consistency. May be 2 or 3 generations down the road. John has a good shot at making some too.

Has there been any luck producing more striped albinos from that specimen?

I see, seems like they went by the wayside years ago and everyone stopped working with them except for a few.

All killer....
I like the yellow on that last amel.
I wonder if there is a marker that'll let us know if an amel neonate will turn into a yellow amel adult.....

I think a super striped yellow amel with Tapalpa red would be the holy grail ruthveni morph.....

Thanks John. I have been wondering the same thing myself. I am planning on holding back most if not all my amels until they start to develop the yellow.

That would be a killer animal! Lots of work until that happens though. First let's start producing supers on a regular basis, then we need to produce the first amel super.

Cool pics Jimmy! I like the white background look, and that striped one is almost 100%. Good luck with those!

Thanks Jorge, the albino didn't take to well with the white background though. I will have to try something different to capture better color for them. That striped female will be ready hopefully in 2014. She is possible het amel too. She will be bred back to her striped dad. Hoping to produce a super or even an amel super with her and her dad. Neat project for sure.

Thanks for the pics, very nice ruthvenis...i would take no 4 and 5 home, like the contrast on them!

KcTrader Mar 22, 2012 06:01 PM

Thanks for the kind words man! I like those better than the amelanistics too. My favorite amel is a high yellow, whether it be by ruthveni or nelsoni. I will be growing up all my amels and picking the ones that develop the best yellows. Hopefully I can put it into the striped line like John said. A nice striped amel tricolor with yellow. That would rock!

KcTrader Mar 22, 2012 06:04 PM

Here's a nice cherry head that was from the same clutch. He didn't want to stay still long enough for a photo last night so this is an old pic.

-----

MichaelHeyduk Mar 22, 2012 06:07 PM

Forget the amels..breed the cherries!

No, everyone has his/her own taste..so do what YOU like most...and we have time until we have to go..use it!

thanks for the pic!and post your knobs for me please!

KcTrader Mar 22, 2012 06:15 PM

Oh I will breed the cherries too. They are even better when they are amel because the black doesn't hide as much read. Check out this post I did a while back. They are all head shots but here is another one. This one I produced in 2010.
