Any one ever heard of these being kept in captivity? its a little critter that's always interested me, but since i'm in KY, it's also been out of reach. any one know how i'd go about acquiring one? (other than going to hawaii and digging around?)

thanks-

Don't know about Hawaiian avilability but we see them commonly here in South Florida.

A lot of the times, these "blind" snakes" are the Brahminy blind snakes, also known as "flowerpot snakes" because they arrived in the US in plant shipments.

I believe they eat ant and termite larvae. Glades Herp has them in occasionally for $5 / $10.

Hope this helps,
Carl

Most of them eat nothing but insect larvae, so keeping them would be a challenge to say the least.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

I found one here in Central FL. in a suburban garden. I have a picture on pet gallery.
