Hi, my snake will eat mice and lizards, and recently i fed him a lizard that was like 2 inches ( a baby green anole that had died), and he ate it. However, why doesnt he eat large crickets or 6 inch worms?! or does he - he never seems to when i watch him.

im taking you have a baby kingsnake. well, in some references, it says babies would take insects, but i highly doubt that. in the wild, they would most likely eat reptilian prey (like your anole) and rodents. If possible, why not just feed all mice? Its much safer for they wont have any parasites that other reptiles can transmit to your snake.

Of all my research I've done on the internet about kingsnakes, I never heard anywhere that they ate bugs of any kind. In fact, they said that they will NOT eat bugs, although it would be nice if they did.
