i'm looking for a thermometer that records highs and lows. any know what i am talking about and where to find it?

dennis, I just got one at home depot last week. it was $18. here is a link to the one I got. It also records humididty.

I know just what you want. I got mine at Wal-Mart for $40, it records high/low of both temps and humidity. It also comes with one wireless sensor (no cords), and can control up to 3 wireless sensors. (The extra sensors will be ready for sale in Jan. of next year.) So what comes in the box is the main station, which read room temp and humidity and one wireless sensor that sends temps/humidity wirelessly to the main station. The main station records the high/low for both the room and the wireless sensor (up to three). Here is a pic of the box:

it sucks. it sounds pretty similar to the one you have except mine is made by springfield and doesn't have the humity reading. the thing is constantly shutting off or looses the remote reading. i'm going to take it back tomarrow and try walmart.
