Zane with my biggest female, Zunchara. Every day I put them together for a few hours and they right away lock up. He is very gentle but persistent, courting her in a most sensuous way. I am really hoping this mating bears fruit, as Zunchara is my prettiest female. He has also mated with his cage mate Zafina.
I put him with a smaller female, Zuni, and he got very agitated, biting her on the back and in general being pretty mean, so I did not leave them together. In fact, I think Zuni may actually be a male. I am not comfortable sexing them, but near as I can tell Zuni looks more male than female, being slender were she should be rounder. Once my set of probes arrives I will be able to sex them better. Squeezing their nethers to make them pop just seems too violent to me. It's time I learned to sex my snakes myself instead of pestering my friends to do it.
