Looking to purchase a new rack

jdcobra Apr 02, 2012 11:43 PM

I'm looking at the vision racks it seems I can get more space for my money but I do like the animal plastics and a few other ones I have seen I can hold 22 ball pythons in the vision rack but I have to buy several other racks to stack to get the same number my question is which are better in any rack freedom and ars are out way to expensive right now any thoughts would be great

I prefer Animal Plastics. They will make any style you request. Just tell them the tub size and pick a style you want. You may need to send them a tub. They'll make it. More than likely they have made it before.

I like the Reptile Basics racks. They went through a change recently that means they can ship within 2 days so you could order them today and have them next week at your door. Or, if there is a show coming up near you where they will be you can save on shipping.

They are flexible in format with CB70 for adults, sweater box for juveniles, and hatchling racks too. I have some of each and they work well. They have stacking pins and can be stacked to fit your space.

You can also get Vivarium Electronics thermostats, quality hides, and everything else you need at the same time and save on shipping.

Beyond that, Rich Goldzung is a great guy to work with and very knowledgeable about the snakes too. You can't go wrong with Reptile Basics.

Animal Plastics for me all the way! 11 high 28-quart type size for all of my Males and smaller Females and the 12 high CB70 size for my large Females! I use the ARS CB70 molded box with the water bowl holder in the CB70 rack since it is made much better than the Iris box but the Iris box works fine. The snakes love the security of being fully enclosed with the exception of the front of the rack.

We love our Animal Plastics racks. They are sturdy, super easy to put together, and relatively light for their bulk especially compared to melamine racks. They have a variety of different heating options and tend to hold heat well.

depending on the size of your collection, Brian at ARS also have a 10 tub cb70 ball python rack with heat, helix, tubs, wheels, etc for right around $1000 if you were not a buyer on the larger more expensive racks. I have had every kind of rack and cage in the business over the past 20 years and in my opinion the ARS racks are the best quality and the most functional and they will repay you many times over when you still have it twenty years from now and are still producing from it. Stick with Vision racks. I have always used Vision racks and you cant beat them as you say for space saving and also for moving them around because of the wheels they all come with. They certainly have the best air circulation of any I have used and if you need several of them you get a deal on them. I think they are the most cost affective of the racks so do your due diligence because hopefully you will have them for many many years to come. Good luck, Jay
