cypress is best if you can find it...and afford it...used to get it at Lowes for under $3 a 40 pound bag.....now...it's "BLEND" and not cypress....might have cedar in it....

good luck.....

Look for Kamlar brand cypress. It is still 100% cypress and is herbicide/pesticide free.

Kamlar is based in Rocky Mount NC and you can find their phone number on the web. Call them and find out if anyone in your area sells their mulch products. Thats how I get mine - $3.50 a bag!

Dale is right about Kamlar. K-Mart garden centers used to carry it.

I'm trying this new product called CLEAN N COZY...Its shredded paper and so far I like it. Dust free and expands 3x. Kinda the best of both worlds, shredded like aspen but clean as paper.

I use a heavier restaurant style papertowel/napkin. I purchase them at The Chefs Warehouse. I like them because there is no spot cleaning. It makes you mantain a cleaner enviroment for your animals. But it is a little more work.
