Question on Burgandy ball pythons...

ajfreptiles Apr 07, 2012 01:53 PM

I have some questions about burgandy balls... first are they called by another name now? I have seen they are called other things but I can't find much info on them. Also what morphs have been made with them? What affect does it have when combined with other genes? What sites are best so I can learn more about them? I don't think the pic shows it well, but she is also ovulating in pic so she should be having eggs soon. I hope my fire male got her.
Thanks Andy

Thanks, did you breed them back and get all normals?? Did it affect color mutations in anyway? Who else worked with them? Any others? Some are calling them chocolate balls and say they are recessive...any truth to this?

I am working with one now where I am breeding son back to mom. They are recessive, so there is truth to that. My first clutch had ugly normals, but a cinnamon male had some really nice coloration compared to others the male sired from other clutches. I had contacted Ralph who helped me ID it, but he said not to get too excited as they rarely ever prove. Still something cool to try though, good luck with it.

Tracy Barker has a line of proven recessive animals.

I've had a male for years that has no yellows or black in him and finally have one of his daughters gravid right now. Hopefully it's recessive and I prove him out. Fingers are crossed.
