New Babies! The Nicaraguan Blood Gene is

robertmcphee Apr 07, 2012 11:22 PM

They all shed and I was shocked to see the difference in these two.
The Blood is a much more vibrant blood compared to the original St. Pierre line or the Pure Nicaraguan Blood. It seems that using the compatible blood gene in the Nicaraguans is the most direct way to producing better looking bloods. This is great news to those who dont like to see the browning effect that some bloods have. Another interesting outcome is the Blood Motley has a tremendous amount of color in comparison to the Blood Motleys I produced last season. It seems that the Nicaraguan Blood gene has some sort of lightening or muting component to the gene as the Nicaraguan Blood is a very muted looking blood. I am very excited to see how this project grows.
0.1 Blood 50% Nicaraguan (Combination of the original Blood Gene and the Nicaraguan Blood Gene)

1.0 Blood Motley 50% Nicaraguan

awsome snakes Bob. I wish I had one of those blood motleys. I have found that the bloods are super variable all the way around. Even the pure CA bloods although more red in general were pretty variable. I have some "original" ones that stayed awsome through adulthood and some that didnt. Anyway, best of luck with them. We should plug a sunglow blood directly into your hypo blood motley. We'll knock off all of the middle work, LOL. An almost full litter of hypo bloods half of which will be motley, all het for albino. OH YEAH GIGIDY GIGIDY!!

They are just beautiful!! Congrats!

-side bar- how many variations of the blood gene are there? 4? Nicaraguan, columbian, central American, and El Salvador? Or are a couple of these just bred to the locality?
