What creature would be a good fit?

lunacanto Apr 10, 2012 01:53 PM

What kind of terrestrial creature would be happy in a 40 gal long tank? It has the bottom surface area of a 50 gallon. I would perfer terrestrial, because I am pretty fed up with filters. I also would love to landscape with moss and soft plants like that. I was thinking Leopard gecko? But I don't think they like moss. I love pretty much all creatures, but would prefer something that doesn't mind being handled on occasion. I really want to do a mossy tank with maybe a shallow water area (like a super shallow bowl or something). Any ideas?

A Crested gecko would be what you described! It be perfect, their super cool do good at room temp! No heat lites and stuff and very 3D.And best of all afordable to anyone. Check'em out, they were just decovered in the 90's I think. EASY and Handable weird and cute. Vic Morgan....or a baby Mt.tortoise start up baby cage for a year or so.

Cresties are nice - but they like height (that a 40L would not give).

I have two corn snakes in a 40L - or a bearded dragon would do good. Also a Blue Tongue Skink - but that would be the minimum size...they like lots of room to burrow.

Remember, just because a creature "will be fine" in a certain tank, dosent mean they would prefer a larger one
