Desert Female

mikesexotics1 Apr 11, 2012 03:35 AM

Has anyone personally had any luck producing viable clutches out of desert females? I would like to hear from those who have personally attempted to breed desert females. Are they totally infertile? Have low fertility rates? Or just as fertile as any other ball python?

I recently came across a number of postings that shed quite a bit of doubt on the topic of desert female fertility. However, I have my sceptisim regarding how many of those posts were placed by people speaking from first hand experience and how many we're simply restating rumors they've read or heard.

Some claim that desert females simply take longer to get to breeding size or require lower temperatures. Any one with experience on these claims?

Has any new difinitive information surfaced recently regarding this topic? I would really appreciate any info on this topic.

Thanks,
Mike

If you go to this Link you can read about my results with a Desert Female. The top part of the page has all of the good stuff about my Desert with the second part the results of my breeding. I am afraid the results were not good but you can judge for yourself.

And awaaaaaaaaay we go!

That's your cue "The Truth"!

That was my first thought when I read the OP; however, in the last long Desert female post I asked "the Truth" to tell about his/her SPECIFIC experience with dessert females and only heard crickets chirping...

The OP was clear that he only wanted specific experiences from people, not second or third hand heresay. That may be enough to keep "the Truth" from posting.
