ghost bull question

herphobbyist Oct 04, 2003 10:42 AM

I have a male ghost bull (pic attached). I have been looking for a female for awhile now. However all the ghost posted look like whiteside bulls to me. My ghost didn't look like that as a neonate so I can't rationalize it turning out like mine. Is the hypo whiteside an actual ghost or just a marketing tool to sell? I have whiteside bulls that look like the ones posted as ghosts but I call them whitesides. I hate to keep passing on females if they are true ghost, on the other hand I don't need another whiteside bull. Can anyone shed some light on my dilemma? thanks Ron

Ghost is the term people use for hypo whitesided. Technically ghost is actually incorrect. They are in fact hypo whitesideds. The range in quality and looks quite a bit! It makes a difference on the bloodline, bells and trumbowers vary a lot. Here are a few examples of hypo whitesideds that live in my collection.

Hope this helps!

The photo of the one on blue: is that a Ballam animal? It sure looked like it. Matter of fact, when Ron emailed me about these, that was the first question I asked him when he sent me the photo...lol. That looks a lot like his, but yours still has more yellow. Nice snake, still.

The one that Knoell purchased from a pet store (I guess you own it now?) is a very good looking animal. I've wondered about the bloodline of that animal since he first sent me that picture. Too bad we'll never know, but it is neat-o.

That is a Ballam animal, just not the greatest photo! (First one that I saw I had uploaded hehehe). Here is a better picture of the same animal. She is pretty solid white, not yellow in person.

Yeah, Greg hooked me up with the ghost. I really needed another adult male this season, so I couldn't be happier.

Good luck on finding a female! I could definitely use a few more.
