Ball Python Genetics Calculator

ohhwataloser Apr 13, 2012 08:04 PM

I made a genetics calculator that I figured might be a good tool to help you figure out the possibilities of your breedings or you can use it to help others out. You can find it here.

http://www.owalreptiles.com/genetics.php

Some things I will answer right away because I know they will get brought up....

What is Unproven Dominant?
It is a classification I made up. I feel there is a need to differentiate between dominant morphs and the ones that are on the waiting list, which I call unproven dominant. A dominant morph has a visual change in the heterozygous form and the exact same change in the homozygous form. I define an unproven dominant as a morph having an unknown homozygous form. More more information visit the Genetic Information Page.

Who proved out the dominant traits?
Daddy Gene - Ralph Davis Reptiles
Congo - Cutting Edge Herp
Pinstripe - BHB Enterprises

This forum does not use table tags or even url tags, so about the only thing you can do to post your results is to post a link back to the results page. I also included a video showing how it works.

That was exactly my thought when I saw this post. I use the WoBP wizard on a very regular basis to plan my future acquisitions and my current pairings.

I made it because I felt there was a lot that could be improved upon, ability to select double triple quad combos, prints out what you have currently selected, gene list organized based on type, synchronized scrolling between male and female, ability to select homozygous dominant morphs then the other calc you can just type in a few letters and select what you want, no need to scroll through anything, much faster for me most of the time. Classic Calc is also not limited to the list at all, you can put in anything you want.
