A Morph I've Never Been Interested In...

Seeves1982 Apr 14, 2012 06:54 PM

A morph that I've never been interested in is the yellow belly. I don't have anything against them I just don't see what is so good about them. Keep in mind I'm here for education not an argument. From what I've heard the yellow belly's claim to fame is enhancing the morph that you breed it with. Can someone give me some good examples of the best yellow belly morphs and what they do that makes them so good?

None of these pics are mine. I google searched them...but here are some animals that need Yellowbellies to make them.

Super Stripe (Yellowbelly X Spector/Whirlwind)

Highway (Yellowbelly x Het highway)

Ivory (Yellowbelly x Yellowbelly)

Puma

This is what it does to a firefly.... Firefly YB on top...

And this is what it does to a bee...

Need more examples???

I used to feel the same way but I have come around the past few months. yellowbelly gene seems to also have an "unlocking" quality for lack of a better word but you see all the "normal" looking things they are getting put with and producing amazing combos. I definately will be looking into a having a male and female yb combo to keep in my collection to test out dinkers

And those are just the tip of the iceberg as to what Yellow Bellies will do for you. I started adding the YB to my collection about 3 or 4 yrs ago because of its ability to enhance other genes and low and behold, last year I picked up a little Super Stripe male. Now I have 6 or 8 of them at breeding size as well as 4 or 5 more that will be breeding for me next year. Talk about a guy that is glad he picked up on some rather drab looking morphs.. You need to pick up as many YB's as you can...lol.
