Good Weekend!

JMo Apr 15, 2012 02:54 PM

Yesterday I posted my first lock in two years of trying with my Bone White Hypo male and Het Hypo female. Today I have my two anerys (multiple hets) hooking up. Unbelievable!

Question: I presume I'll get a pre-lay shed? If yes, how long after the shed can I typically expect the eggs?

Thanks for looking,
Jim

Cool!,......

Well, it generally takes anywhere between 3 and 8 days after their "pre-lay" shed to lay the eggs, but there are always exceptions to this generalization. I always like to go the safe route and have a suitable nesting box (or entire section of the cage loaded with moist sphagnum)just prior to shedding or JUST afterwards so the female doesn't stress looking for a suitable nesting site.
