WLP UPDATE

CFoley Oct 04, 2003 11:23 AM

I just realized I had been writing male all this time....one typo messes me up forever. Its really the female. Well....

Just as I thought it may be forcefeed or die, she decided to eat. a small live mouse. Now hopefully there will be no regurge, last time i fed saturday, and the regurge was monday. Im hoping the Metronidazole was the key.

Now I have another question. Her defication is greenish and stringy. A friend told me the stringy part may be from dead worms?, since the Metro is a dewormer...Any idea about that, especially the green part??

thanks
chris

Glad to hear your wlp ate, my pair is cbb so I've never had a problem with them not wanting to eat... a friend of mine had a wc and once she got it started, it was never a problem again. About the green, it might be extra bile that was produced to help with the metabolic elimination of the metranidazole. This is a bit of a guess because I don't know it's primary elimination route. It would be interesting to see if other people's animals have experienced similiar symptoms after this medication. Good luck with those guys,
