all 3 adult female cali kings I have.
Really excited for next year since I'll have 2 more males and another female to add to the mix.

April 8th - 15th

this female just shed on the 16th, and they've locked up twice so far.

Very cool, Mike. I'm always way behind. I don't start introducing pairs until May.

I have only introduced 5 pairings so far, the rest of the females haven't shed yet.

The interesting thing is I've bred albinos to "normals" a couple times before and got albinos. Not everybody keeps track of where a snake comes from, or what genes it may have, then when it gets sold it might just get sold as a "normal". I'm always excited once there's eggs incubating, ya never know what might pop out! I'm thinking eggs from the Mosaic female will be out by the 2nd week of May. woo!

Back in 2007 this cali king female was given to me by a pet adoption place because it would always bite everyone... Needless to say after a couple big meals she calmed right down. Then I bred her to my albino male, out of 7 eggs only 2 hatched, I thought they all went bad. When I went to remove the pueblan milks from the same incubator, I found 2 cali king babies, 1 albino.

Yup. Next year I'll have a ghost male and a vanishing stripe male to add to the projects. But I've had that albino cali male since 2004 and he's only ever fathered 2 good eggs, this year was kind of his last chance to get some more offspring out there.

Why "kind of his last chance?"
Age?
Or were you going to retire him if he couldn't fertilize eggs?

Yeah he was gonna be retired if he didn't come through for this year, he's only 8 years old this year and I've heard they can produce good eggs until 15 sometimes... But he got 2 females egg bound in the past, one of which ended up dying, so this was his last chance to prove himself. If this year goes good for him I might breed him to 1 female next year just because, but I have 2 other males that I would rather use (a ghost and a vanishing stripe).
