Good plants to keep in a tank.

I was wondering what aquatic plants will thrive in the a tank.

Those that you grow in another tank, so that the turtles won't eat them in ten minutes. Seriously, I grow some on the deck in a dish pan or two, or Rubbermaid conatiners, and throw a few into the turtle tanks from time to time.

Water hyacinth, water lettuce, and anacharis are all good, as is frog bit.

But how do you keep them alive in a artificial habitat over the winter.

As Katrina said basically not much will thrive with your turtles in the tank. Perhaps try floating some water sprite on the surface. They may leave that alone. (though no quarantees). Plants are good to have in the tank though for the turtles to munch on.
