Parasitic nasties in your King!

Lucy47 Apr 19, 2012 07:03 PM

My wild caught Palm Beach Florida King had a fecal done last summer and he had pin worms and ameoba's. I treated with Panacur and the vet gave me something for the ameoba infestation. I can't remember what it was called but it wasn't flagyl. Anyway he has looked a bit bloated about the last 2/3 of him and I know that can be a sign of intestinal inflammation. Another fecal yesterday and he has Pin and Hook worms as well as Ameoba's. Don't be like me and skip the follow up fecal since I obviously never got rid of bugs.

....more and more people using and asking about the use of diatomaceous earth as a dewormer.....I'm hearing good things and little else....No strong, harsh chemicals to worry about.
Ever try it?

I was going to get some for my yard dogs. It's said to kill fleas too! It basically shreds them like fine glass but is harmless to most animals, and humans.

diatomaceous earth, as in fossilized diatoms?

i have heard of some folks using it in gardening for various stuff, but not straight down the hatch.

any idea how it tastes? i'd be interested when it is made with flavors hahahaha

alcohol, tobacco and firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency

yeah Dave, but as stated it's the "food grade". I see it now for sale by some reptile guys...I think bearded dragon co. had it in the last REPTILES.....

If you consume the stuff, do you not need to chew the rest of what you eat?

CrimsonKing Apr 21, 2012 12:22 PM
