JCP Question??

doubledouble May 27, 2003 10:56 AM

Hello All, Just wondering I have had my jungles for a year now. They are growing like weeds, this weekend my female began soaking in her water bowl for the first time. Is this something that your jungles do?? She is eating fine and the temp and humidity is also fine, I just have never had either soak in their water bowl before. My Boas soak often.

Thanks, David

It's a general rule that carpet pythons do not soak. so if you find your carpet python soaking, you should be concerned. chances are it's sick, or is infested with mites or another parasite. chances are it's mites.

take him out and look at him closely. can you see tiny black specks that are around the size of a grain of salt (bigger once they fill with blood).. they like to burrow under scales too, so check to see if there are any scales sticking out.

if you do find them, come back and post that you "have mites" and need help.. and you'll get a range of treatments you can use.

hope everything works out.

JIMI
