>>WOW!
I agree....I have a good lead on some real nice aurora like the one pictured......I just hope the breeder gets some fertile eggs to hatch.....
Fiskii are very rare in the states. I do know the go for 10,000 Rand in South Africa.....about $1300.......

I say Wow too when I see a picture of those. Why are they so hard to come by? Are they primarily frog/lizard feeders or something like that?

It seems the only house snakes that are abundantly available in the states are fuliginosis and they are rodent feeders.
I guess they are rare since they are from South Africa and there aren't many breeding them in captivity over there......

Thanks, they were but unfortunately they never made it here....Long story.....Again another one on my wish list, again. They are really neat house snakes, they are more tuned to eat lizards vs. mice and that is probably why people don't work with them as much...

yea...but so are alterna and thayeri and we get them on mice all the time......
And...I didn't know aurora were primarily lizard eaters.....My buddy in South Africa said he feeds his mice.....But good info to know.....They should fit in well over here.....LOL

I think they are easy to switch (just like alterna and mexicana) but they tend to like anoles better when they are young. I haven't worked with any yet but know a few who have and are. Don't get me wrong there are probably many that start off on mice but from what others have told me they like lizards much better especially when younger. Won't be long and I will be able to tell you first hand info.....

And not unlike some of the picky lizard eating corns found in parts of Florida...
Some of those hatchlings can be some of the most stubborn lizard feeders I have ever seen, even when out-crossed into generic ..LOL!

I agree......I had a clutch of corns that were worse than any alterna or mexicana to get to eat......they must've been derived from those you mentioned.....lol

If that doesn't happen then I will need to find another breeder....

Yea...but some lizard eating snakes prefer a certain species.....
Not all will eat Bahaman Anoles....BTW...they are starting to take over here.....
For that reason I have uta, sceloporus, med gex, ornatus, etc....in the freezer just for that reason.....

Yeah, I know, but between those and ground skinks, at least many of the lizard eating species will adapt to, and usually accept them after awhile, if not initially.
I was just pointing out that Jimmy and I here in Florida practically trip over brown anoles everytime we go outside, or walk the dog..LOL!
Yes, your hot and humid weather would definitely support them too.

Your not kidding Doug. I think I find 100-200 anole eggs each year weeding the flower beds around the house. Typically the get hatched and released but since the collection grew a little some don't make it back outside.LOL

HAHAA!!,....yeah, I can dig that!. Those little hatchlings do come in handy for many of the types you will be working with..
