My first hatch of Balls

Roe May 08, 2012 02:55 PM

After years of being into a lot of other types of snakes, I finally got some Balls and had an albino het to het clutch of 8 hatching as I left for work today.
QUESTION: the incubation temp has been 89-90....now that the snakes are hatching, should I drop the temps or leave at this temp until they are completely out of egg?
thanks!

I leave the egg box in the incubator! As the hatchlings fully emerge, I then transfer them to individual shoeboxes, on wet paper towels, using normal temps!

thanks!---I do still have the container in the incubator....just didn't know whether I should lower the temperature in the incubator now.

No leave the temps alone...i would uncover the top of those eggs with vermic on them as well ...give em a clean shot out.
Congrats on proving the hets....

Ive never seen the balls up close like that. That would be cool. How do they feel?

good question....I separated the eggs for hatching and they are soft and pliable at this point. Pretty cool to watch them popping.

Sorry, but I gotta. Did you just ask him what his balls felt like?

I leave them in incubater until fully out of eggs. You dont have to adjust the temps. Once out of the eggs I transfer them to my hatchling rack. I put all the hatchlings in the same tub together on damp paper towels. This helps them shed. After they all shed then I move them into there indivisual tubs. Hope this helps.
