w/c beauty w/some exceptions

joecop May 08, 2012 10:58 PM

LOL. Well all but one are w/c that I myself found. Mother nature can produce some awesome critters.

And who can forget this guy. Still the most amazing wild snake I have ever seen. I am honored to have him in my collection.

This female is not a w/c, but imo pretty darn awesome.

Great finds Joe!, .....as well as the one you didn't. That alterna sort of reminds me of Jimmy Tintle's smoking alterna....

What subspecies of zonata? Is that one you scored on that trip we just talked about?

Thanks Doug. I actually caught both the first one and of course the smoking male multifasciata. He is from Santa Clara. The first animal is a multicincta from Tolumne that was found two years ago.

LOL. I paid big money for that girl Billy. She was holdback that I had to have The male is nice too, but different. I can't wait until they are big enough to breed. By the way, your GB's are smoking as well. Maybe we can do some trading down the line.

LOL. Glad you like him Gerard. That is a big Calvert County Md boy I caught three years ago. Funny because I told the guys I went herping with I was not keeping anything unless it was exceptional. I then flipped that guy right after saying that. We say that a lot now prior to flipping hoping to improve our luck.

They are all nice, but I have to say I like that wc zonata the best.

Thanks Ross. I have to agree with that myself. I never tire of looking at that animal. Simply amazing to me. I remember pulling him from that crack and shaking when I saw him.

I have a mate lined up for him Jorge, but don't have her yet. Cannot wait to see what he produces. He is a coast animal. (multifasciata). Thanks bro.

Those are all superb specimens. I hope you eventually match up that yellow Speck1 Did you say it was from Kansas? Dave Niles and the guys on the Milk Forum found some recently. Don't know if they kept any? Is that an Zonata under the chain King one you found? That is awesome! The Chain King is also very interesting with the thin chains. The Alterna looks like a Coffey, very nice also!

Jorge, I am not sure they kept any of the specks and if they did I am not sure they are from the same locale. The chains in Southern MD have very thin bands and some are very attractive IMO. The GB is a black gap locale and yep, I caught that zonata. (with MUCH help from Mr Mulks I might add). Thanks for the kind words my friend.

All fantastic finds and a great collection. They all come with a story, I'm sure.

Thanks Dennis. Yes, they all have a memory with them, which makes them my favorites and the last of any animals I would ever part with.
