Blk pewter blast or pin silver streak?

spidermah May 09, 2012 01:38 AM

I recently purchased a collection of ball pythons from a local enthusiast who decided to get out of the hobby. Most of the morphs I obtained are easily identifiable, but the male black pewter blast (black pastel-pastel-pinstripe) appears to be a pinstripe silver streak (black pastel-super pastel-pinstripe). I'm basing my assumption off of the worldofballpythons.com genetic wizard app. I was messing around with different pairings (black pewter blast x super pastel, specifically), and pinstripe silver streak was a product of the pairing. After looking at the photos of both morphs, the snake I have looks more like the pinstripe silver streak. I couldn't find much more info online regarding these morphs, so I thought I'd consult the professionals. Thanks for your time and opinions. Brandon

I'd say, believe what he told you! What were the other components of the collection? I'd bet there's a black pastel in there!

At this point he is looking like a black pewter blast, and you are correct, there is a female black pastel in the collection. Thanks for your info.

Breed him. If everything comes out with pastel in it, you'll have your answer.

Of course I'm going to breed him. Thanks.

That looks identical to one I produced and sold a few months back. Definitely a black pewter blast. Who did you purchase from?

Thanks for all the information. I purchased him from a guy named "mike" in las Vegas. I figured it was a black pewter blast, but due to the lack of references online, I was crossing my fingers. Either way, cool snake!
