I have some snapdragons and carnations growing in pots in my apartment for the winter months. Are either of these safe to feed to my uro?
Thanks

I am not sure about the specific flowers you mentioned (snapdragons and carnations). But I URGE you to find out from a botanist or a vet or someone who knows FOR SURE. DON'T FIND OUT THE HARD WAY. We mistakenly fed our 3 year old Bearded Dragon a daffodil, and it KILLED HIM. One daffodil. This broke my heart, because of course I should have known that daffodils are poisonous. Your best bet, is to purchase flowers from the grocery store, that are already packaged for human consumption. Some flowers are extremely poisonous that are growing right outside your house, so be careful.
This picture is of Cheech, who passed away in March. He was the one who ate the daffodil.

and it's because of this that I never feed my uro ANYTHING that I'm unsure about. I'll often try to get several opinions on things before I even consider them a food item for Ra.
I'm sorry that you lost your beardie in this fashion.
Do you know anyone I could contact for info on these flowers?
By the way, I was told that Fuschia is safe for human consumption but I am still leery about giving it to my uro.
Thanks for the advice

I know that Deerfernfarms.com has a REALLY long list of safe foods for Uros, even flowers. My favorite to feed our Uros is Dandelion flowers! We use no fertilizer or pesticides on the lawn, and the Uros really like the flowers. They are totally safe as long as there's no chemicals on them! =)

He recommended that I don't feed my uro snapdragons and carnations since, to his knowledge, they are inedible.
I've harvested some wild dandelion seeds at the end of this summer (I know of a field that is not exposed to any chemicals whatsoever) and am growing my own dandelions indoors so Ra can have his dandelion flowers year-round.
Thanks for the help
