What are the possibilities? normal x normal

LeeFobes Oct 04, 2003 07:10 PM

If i were to mate 2 normals, would could the outcome be? i dont expect any albinos or anything....Would they just produce different kinds of normals?

well how then do you get morphs...if all BPs started out as normals, and they bred, wouldnt they just produce more normals? how was the morph made then if normals and normals made normals?

please elaborate on the subject. And, isnt there always the possiblity of that Recessive gene coming out, in a pair of 2 breeding normals?

BallBoutique Oct 04, 2003 08:51 PM

oh yes....but you said normal to normal. You would produce normal. That is why I aid 99.99%!!!!!
A bio teacher told me that I carry the albino gene but the odds of me and another person producing an albino person is not likely. But could happen.
Perhaps you too can produce Lucies!

so basically, when breeding 2 normals, you never know what your going to get, but you have a really good idea, how long do you think it took to get pastels out of normals? or any other morph for that matter? how old is the Species Python Regius?

DeltaWoods Oct 04, 2003 09:57 PM

I am not very experienced with the ball python morphs but i know for a lot of species, different colors and morphs and other variations show up because of a gene mutation a lot of the time. A ball python in Africa is born with a very weird pattern or something because of a gene mutation that caused a drastic color change. Then someone found this weird ball and brought it to a breeder or something. I am not sure if this is how it works but from a biology perspective it should go something like this, i believe.

so basically, a gene changes for no apperent reason? it just happens?

khalliaar Oct 05, 2003 12:13 AM

From what I know, thats how it happens. When a gene mutates it changes for no apparent reason to something very different from the parents.

paper ere said chance for albinism in common robins was 1 //in 30,000..........

you have a chane to produce anything........

you also have a chance of winning the powerball lottery.....(1 in 6 or more milion?) I forget

......99.999999999% you will get normals........

.......go for it.........

and buy a ticket too........

good luck.........

IF you get wild bred african stuff.....odds suck......
IF you get captives from big breeders who mix aot of normal girls to morphs............you get the picture.....sooner or later aot of hets will be out tere.......and you just have to get lucky...........(het pied to het albino makes normal still ...(just an example)........
