Well here it is the 14th of may and just popped the second clutch in the incubator.....seeing pic of babies out of eggs from this year makes me jealous...but I know I have many more clutches to go.
Pastel female and a Enchi male...all eggs candled and strong veins in all...BTW thank you Jeff for the Enchi hes been very busy this year.

I noticed in your second picture that the female wasn't curled around two of the eggs. Have you noticed a difference in success with those "roll out" eggs versus the ones she was holding on to?

My female who just produced was, sadly, a total noob. At least I hope that was the case. She was wrapped around four of the ten eggs and a pile of her bedding, leaving the others to sit around the tub. I put them all in the incubator anyways to see what happens.

The roll outs were fine...I candeled them and all have very strong veins....she had just finished laying and when she first started she had them all spread out in the tub. I probably collected them about an hour after she was done and may have been stressed from me peaking in the tub every hour.

some are good some are bad...usually big ones like these are just missed when she hugs the pile after she is finished dropping them all...some females will lay all pretty little piles and make sure each is secure in her grasp...others will just dump them all out and not have a good pile...then later just grab them all and wrap them into a pile...others just grab and yet miss some...they would probably see and smell them later and wrap them in tight....in the wild they don't have big areas to lay in usually...so the egs don't roll out or get layed outside the piles....

all my findings over the years.,..others may or may not agree 100%...

good luck...keep all eggs till they turn yellow, green or blue...you will know when they go bad....(lay them under the enemy's seat's in their car!!!)...not really , the police don't like these things....

put the bad eggs under your enemies seat?!?! lol i prefer the f/t rat that no one wanted to eat seems like the f/t process makes them break down sooner. lol not that i would know first hand or anything
