Black-Eyed Anery Motley

There isn’t enough time in the day for me to follow the boa forums on a regular basis … I am too busy tending to new lizard projects … and oh yes, I still have around 40 boas to tinker with. And this brings me to the purpose of this post … I am excited to share something new with our boa community.

After 7 years into my Black-Eyed Anery project (beginning in 2005), yesterday I had a litter from breeding a female Black-Eyed Anery x male Motley Het Black-Eyed Anery … YES, 3 BE-ANERY MOTLEYS! THE 1ST AND ONLY! I find these projects fascinating because the Black Eyes offer another dimension to the boa morph community … I will let your imagination visualize what some of the existing morphs would look like with Black Eyes plugged in. And don’t limit your imagination because with the right combination of genes you might end up with something different than you think … like maybe solid Red Eyes.

I also have a 2nd Black-Eyed Anery breeding that I anxiously await … actually due date is today … extremely melanistic female Black-Eyed Anery x male Snow. This breeding will prove if my Type I Anery and Type II BE-Anery bloodlines are compatible (at this point, I am not expecting them to be) … but the litter will be Het for Albino, Het for Type I Anery, and Het for Type II Black-Eyed Anery. I am not sure what my next step(s) will be with these offspring, but it will definitely include some direction toward Type II Snow boas (smaller, whiter Snows with Black or Red Eyes).

By the way, I feel these Black-Eyed Anery bloodlines are the "Gems of Anerythristic Boas" ... Black Eyes, Silver-Gray & Iridescent background, Blocky-Shaped head, etc.
