the spotted female lays...

mikefedzen May 26, 2012 09:17 PM

9 eggs.
2 look pretty small, I'd be surprised if those are good. The other 7 look good though. Guess we'll see.

she barely lost any weight laying these eggs, while she was gravid she ate a good bit of fuzzies and a couple pinkie rats, and didn't eat for 20 days before laying.
The '06 female that laid 8 eggs a couple days ago was pretty skinny, she ate a lot less often than the spotted while gravid and I just got her this Spring so she wasn't bulked up.

Here's the spotted female rehydrating earlier today.

The male that she was bred to came out of brumation on March 9th, he ate 2 adult mice on the 12th, and when he shed on the 22nd he was in breed-only mode. As of 5/22, exactly 2 months after he stopped eating, he started back up again. This guy is one of my favorites, he's tamed down a good bit since I got him last year, now I'm hoping the albino female lays a nice clutch.

Congrats Mike!! That is awesome. Glad to see your projects are going well. I am interested to see what hatches out from the spotted female clutch so keep us posted!

Congrats Mike, as Dave said in the earlier post, looking forward to what hatches from those. Didn't you breed your het amel male to her?

Yeah I ended up only using the apricot het albino male for 4 different females, because my albino male is a year younger and did nothing but freak out when placed with a female. I have another het albino male as well but I didn't use him, figured the apricot one was definitely the nicer looking of the two.. Though the other het albino male isn't too shabby looking himself.
