how do you eat a cow? 1 bite at a time..

daveb May 29, 2012 07:26 PM

so i will start with this...

what is bonding?

i suspect it has to be more than tolerance of another's presence without killing the other?

aside from not being able to eat all the food before others show up, not killing the others or females breeding with a finite number of males, what else is there?

do they communicate?
do they lead others to water, shelter, new experiences?
do they protect one another, clean one another, teach one another?
are they happy? are they distressed when they are away from the herd?

Observing them in a cage by themsleves with set temps and deciding when to feed is hardly natural or healthy for the snakes.

You are doing what suits you. which is fine, but its not about the animal, its about you. Your requirements.

I'm intersted in learning more about this as well.

obviously it's for some and not for others... If you don't like it, move along and post under another topic because some individuals are genuinly curious.

I for one am interested in attempting to learn everything I possibly can about snakes to include housing, breeding, feeding, etc... I've been raising/ breeding a handful of species since I was a child (i'm 27 now) and still feel like an total newb compared to some guys on the forum so i'm here to learn.

seems ridculous that people with a wealth of knowledge are torn apart for sharing information that others don't like to hear.

Where was someone torn apart for sharing? The problem is not having anything to back up them saying everyone else is stupid for not doing it a certain way. I think not asking why someone says something is important and anyone that thinks it's not are the ones that should just read and move along.

Bonding for cal kings is the snake tricking the owner to put another cal king in it's cage.......so that he can kill it and eat it.

Throughout the years I have gone rattlesnake hunting......and have never been tagged. In 1997 I knew of 7 people who thought they would never be tagged and were......and one of them died.

Cheers

Yeah, you haven't been bit, so they must never bite. I have never been hit either, I like to think it's because I'm smart but I don't pretend it can't happen. I have had a couple close calls, each one do to other people's mistakes. What species delivered the fatal bite?

Man that is an awesome, awesome animal. Nothing quite like a big healthy Eastern Diamondback, one of the most impressive animals in the world.
