Wildcaught Hypomelanistic Eastern Milk

I've never seen anything like this - I know that's there's been albinos and T-positives that have turned up. This was found in Northeast Ohio.

Wow Tim that is cool!

It doesn't look like what I would expect a Tpos to look like, unless it is in a shed, because it seems washed out. The Tpos Coastal Plains milks keep a brilliant bright red coloration as adults like this one.

Does it have red eyes or black eyes? That may help us figure out what it is.

Do you have it?

Dave,

It just shed either today or yesterday. It's got black eyes.

Thanks for the follow up Tim. It sure is cool. What are your thoughts about what it might be?

Very cool animal Tim!. I would think it fits the term hypomelanistic best too. I would bet it would have normally been an individual with very light brownish rusty/red pigment since the red pigment doesn't seem to be more vividly displayed like some other hypos or t-plus animals might display when the melanin is reduced.

That is one awesome looking specimen man!

Nice find Tim!

Not only is the pattern odd, but the solid black eye (if it is as it appears in the photos) is something I've never seen on an eastern. Best of luck with it.

Joe it should get bred to your albino that could clarify some things, I would say its definatley more than just hypo, a beautiful creature regardless

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!
