Looking For Frog Logs ....... No Really

hicksonj Oct 04, 2003 10:32 PM

I need to send Dr. Frye a fecal sample for testing, but I cannot find where my frogs are hiding them. I took one frog out for the day and put him in a large tupperware container with moist pt, but he got stage fright and didn't go. Do frogs have a "spot" like leopard geckos? Should I leave him in the container overnight? Give him a little froggy milk of magnesia ... just kidding ~Thanks

I've found that placing them in a covered deli cup seems to do the trick. Most of my frogs empty their bowels when disturbed in this manner. Also it's easy to remove and you KNOW for a fact that it came from that particular frog and not another ones log. :P Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I would just move him to a shoe case with some papert towels and let him stay there until he does his thing. Just set it up like a quarintine tank with some pothos clipping and a coconut hut.
Hope this helps
